Driver-Accessible Strainer
HDI 3 inch vane pump systems and 3 inch gear pump systems feature HDI's patented (U.S. Patent 7,124,792 B2, other patents pending), driver-accessible strainer. Drivers no longer need to crawl under the truck with a wrench to clean out a clogged strainer. The new strainer is fully accessible from the side of the truck and can quickly be removed without the use of tools by loosening two large plastic knobs.

Vane pump systems have an 1/8 inch mesh strainer element for refined products, while gear pumps have a 3/16 inch mesh strainer element for more viscous products. HDI strainers are intended to stop nuts, bolts, rocks, spill pads and other debris from being pumped into the customer's tank or damaging the pump. Additionally, the strainer allows for easy input of addatives or pump protectants, such as diesel into the pump system.
