Driver-Accessible Strainer
SPS vane pumps systems and 3 inch gear pump systems now come with SPS's patented (U.S. Patent 7,124,792 B2, other patents pending), driver-accessible strainer. No longer do drivers need to crawl under the truck with a wrench to clean out the strainer. The new strainer can be quickly removed without the use of tools by loosening two plastic knobs.

Vane pump systems have an 1/8 inch mesh strainer element for refined products, while gear pumps have a 3/16 inch mesh strainer element for more viscous products. SPS strainers are intended to stop nuts, bolts, rocks, spill pads and other debris from being pumped into the customer's tank or damaging the pump. Additionally, the strainer allows for easy input of addatives or pump protectants, such as diesel into the pump system.
